The Shrew View: Careless Social Justice

Activism is being waged with manic fervor. Is globalism the new secular religion for our country? Perhaps. It is certainly worth a deeper look.

In my June 6, 2021 blog post, “Critical Theory Can’t Compete With Our Diversity”, I point out how it is disabling to our society to form people into groups. The BIG LIE is CRT (Critical Race Theory). The BIG TRUTH is to love your neighbor, stay Liberty minded and keep the next generation FREE.

To be diverse is to show a great deal of variety and difference. When people are separated into groups, whole identities are actually removed to form a collective mindset. It is the collective mindset that chains a person to the collective action. Why would a Liberty minded country put groups ahead of individuals? Politics and power is why…Grouping people into categories is the easiest way to highlight differences and allow people seeking power to energize a base. However, differences are what make individuals interesting to know. Without differences our country and our world would be a very uninteresting place. Whole cultures would be turned into one big global culture where individuals would either divide off into dictated categories or be left behind to never assimilate thus remaining as outcasts in society.

As I look at what is happening in America today, I believe the divisions I witness among people are becoming increasingly careless and nonsensical. These divisions are happening in only one political party though, the Democratic Party. To be with this party you must ally yourself with groups that are claiming to be oppressed, but these groups cannot seem to find ONE individual to represent them or their political party! This is proof to me that sadly they cannot exist as individuals because these people thrive in collective chaos. What then is the goal of the Democratic Party? Perhaps you can say that the goal is world peace through having all humanitarian needs met, but how can this be done without clear leadership? It can’t.

Pointless Preaching

This is where the religion comes in. A religion typically requires belief in an omniscient and omnipresent System. But today’s activists don’t want to be oppressed by clear beliefs or systems. They would rather obliterate them. What is then left? A vacuum. And what will this vacuum be filled with? A type of secular system that will generate new beliefs…But it’s a circular route! No one group or person for that matter will ever be happy with the results, because humans require certainty to flourish in the physical world.

Secularism requires no religious or spiritual basis, therefore the human soul cannot thrive within its boundaries and will wither without the Truth of God’s Love. Secularism as a basis for global power makes no sense…Humans are not empty vessels to be numbed and manipulated, yet that is what it will take to turn the human race into good globalists.

The activists on our college campuses and in our town squares have been numbed. Their causes are not socially accepting and their minds are not critical. The justice they seek is nonexistent because it has no leader to give it meaning. Will a leader appear? If one does we can be sure that he or she will be very tyrannical in their scope of action. It will be a secular worshiping of Satan.

Activists lack introspection because they will have you believe that Make America Great Again is the cult to be feared. In reality, today’s activists are the cult of American and Judeo-Christian destruction.

Chaos is Powerless

The Shrew thinks that liberals, especially progressive liberals, are the most optimistic when they see their change agenda advancing quickly. They aggressively force their agenda along and sideline any questions from those who seek to understand more about their changes. Today’s liberals know that they must cause chaos to bring about the changes they see fit. Labeling the observations by those who question the left’s actions as “misinformation” and “disinformation” is the best way for today’s liberals to hide their agenda and cause chaos. Division is constant on their perceived road to utopia.

What is the point?

Conservatives on the other hand see the world the way it is and plan a more pragmatic approach to changes. This involves some give and take with the political opposition which seems like it takes forever to implement a change, however any change that is made has a more lasting effect.

But what is the “change” being sought?

We the people must understand that as individuals we hold the most power for our country’s needed changes. When things look bleak in life, does more chaos help or harm progress toward betterment? Are opposing positions part of chaos? Yes and no.

Yes, opposing positions naturally seem chaotic. Each side strongly believes their argument should win. When one side won’t allow the other side to be heard then forward progress to solutions is hampered. We have seen this on many college campuses, at city halls and in DC. How very sad in a country where free speech and transparency has always held tremendous value.

Measured debate is the healthy way to process all viewpoints of an argument and arrive at solutions. In this way the chaos of opposing viewpoints can be eliminated. Winning an argument takes skill. Facts and reason are used to remove hearsay and emotion. “Utopia” can best be achieved with measured debate.

The next time a progressive liberal makes an emotional appeal to you, ask them what positive results they want. Positive results require actions that can be considered effective. But today’s liberals don’t like facts, data, or scientific methods that can be tracked. They prefer emotional outreach and manipulation of facts, data, and science. If you are a conservative then you understand that emotions and manipulation result in stagnation which helps no one. This is why pragmatism works towards real betterment.

You don’t have to be a democrat or a republican to use a pragmatic approach to policy changes. What you have to be is a representative for ALL the people in your district, sensitive to ALL points of view and open to compromise. It’s true that when one political party is in “power” then they hold all the cards. But as Uncle Ben said to Peter Parker, “With great power comes great responsibility.” So when an administration has all the cards they are also accountable for how they deal them.

As for those of us who are watching and having to live with how the deck is dealt, our power requires us to know our responsibilities. Those responsibilities are to be skeptical of all government, ask pertinent questions, seek answers from many sources and vote our conscience.

No chaos needed.

The Cloak of Love and Joy

Imagine, if you will, that you live in a city or town with individuals of diverse family situations, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and religious philosophies. Trying to imagine this in the United States of America isn’t very hard to do, especially if you live in an urban setting. The hustle and bustle of public transportation among densely populated neighborhoods and a variety of commercial buildings is second nature to those who live in these environments. Many times even the suburbs located not too far from these urban areas are bustling just as much. However, there is a great deal of difference when towns are located far from this hustle and bustle.

Small rural towns are more homogeneous, that is, the people in them share a sameness of culture born around a common industry such as agriculture, mining or manufacturing. There is still a diversity of incomes and thought, but race, ethnicity and religious beliefs are typically less different. Our rural identity is just as important to the fabric of our country as our urban identity. Both knit together a unique sense of pride which we call patriotism.

What we build together as communities of hardworking and intelligent citizens is more important than what we take individually. We cannot have one without the other however…My commitment to myself as an asset to my community ensures a lasting civilization. Self awareness is key to prosperity no matter who you are on the spectrum of cultural diversity because it can help you make better decisions, build healthier relationships, lead with authenticity, take better care of yourself, and live a more fulfilling life. Self awareness is your personal cloak of love and joy.

Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors

Think of this cloak as your own hero cape! You are a Superhero to all those around you when this cloak has been fully formed by other self aware people in your life. It is like the Biblical narrative of the coat of many colors that Joseph’s father gave to him. In this story Joseph’s brothers did not get one and so were jealous of him. The importance here is that the father only recognized Joseph as most worthy of this gift because Joseph had obtained true self awareness. Of all his future suffering, Joseph would still go on to achieve and share much prosperity while maintaining his humility with God, his family and all those around him…An inspiration for all.

Who will give you your hero cloak and are you deserving of it? Is your character up to the challenge? Can you knit your own with the help of God’s presence in your life? The answer is a resounding YES! No matter who you are or where you’re from it is possible. Our western civilization truly depends on our Superheroes.

As with most anything, there is a balance to achieve when being self aware. The jealousy of others will be present and your perception to this will help to direct your path in life…Trust in divine providence.

Testing for Substance

We all do this…Put an idea (policy or theory) out to people around us to gage the response and then take a new action accordingly. Those new actions can have a variety of intentions affecting culture, race, politics, history or anything really. They can even affect an individual’s life.

When an idea isn’t well received this doesn’t necessarily mean that it fails. In fact, hubris can actually cause an unfettered attachment to it, especially if the idea hasn’t been thoroughly tested for positives and negatives. People in positions of power can often display this type of hubris, making them assert their rejected idea more forcefully. Also, they might even “leak” bogus information to media platforms in order to distract from their efforts or inject soft science in order to bolster agreement among under-educated advocates.

Positive and negative feedback can come in many forms: polls, surveys, votes, debates, public comments, letters to the editor, social media posts, etc. But what happens when an idea (policy or theory) is pushed without any thought to the feedback? What happens when an idea has been developed to the point of its implementation and its negative consequences are allowed to run amuck?

Enter the whistle blower. These people typically are those who have first hand knowledge of the people implementing the idea because they are either working with them or for them. Because of their insider knowledge and their job being on the line, many whistle blowers are not protected from retribution. Sometimes whistle blower information will reach the public too late and few people might believe the information to be true…An investigation, usually by trusted reporters, is then critical.

But whom do you trust with investigative power? There is no easy answer to this especially if you haven’t been practicing your own discernment skills. Discernment and intuition are God given attributes meant to offset an overzealous trust. Otherwise you can be easily lead down a path of harm physically, economically and/or psychologically. Vulnerable people are often the victims of a power hungry person or group and the ideas that they profess. This is why it’s important to have a logical test for the substance of an idea.

Know the history!

The following are a few current ideas that I believe needed testing for substance before being enacted…Spend trillions of taxpayer dollars to “end” inflation; Allow children to choose their gender; Curb fossil fuel production before green energy alternatives are fool proof and ready for mass use; Feed a war machine against Putin rather than encouraging diplomacy. Each of these ideas has the capability of harming thousands of people.

Here is my test for substance:

1) Remove personalities and name calling from the equation. This allows you to focus on the idea.

2) What are the sources of the idea’s information? Gathering the hard data and original source articles can be instrumental for getting to a logical conclusion.

3) Is there any history of past examples? If so, what were the outcomes? History often repeats itself.

4) Do the values of the idea align with the welfare of each individual involved with the outcome? “Inclusive” can sometimes be exclusive. Seldom does an idea that is designed for a group benefit all the individuals involved. If this is the case, can the idea be remedied to be more beneficial?

5) Is there sufficient debate and compromise happening in the process? Diversity of opinion is more important than tunnel vision.

6) Remove the politics and lobbying. The correct decision should not be heavily influenced by outside pressures.

7) Is there a way to correct any negative effects after the idea has been implemented? Make sure this corrective process is in writing and easily available.

8) Trust your intuition and stop the process if you believe that any of the above steps have been compromised. Ask relevant questions to draw out the deceptive practices of others.

These are your powers. Use them, hone them and teach them. Truth is available, but only if you test for substance. Don’t allow yourself to be told what to believe or that your testing has no merit. God has blessed you to do this work.
